Tyler's Easter Party

With the help from my friend, Laura, I got to go spend some quality time with Tyler at his Easter party on Tuesday. We ate, hunted for eggs and made bunny ears as our craft. It was a lot of fun! I am so fortunate to have such great friends to help me out so Tyler can have some mommy time.

We were waiting "patiently" to get into the playground to find the eggs. Patiently, I mean, worming our way up to the beginning of the line. I really think he thought no one would notice him since he was beside the wall. Good try, Tyler.
Can't be a party without a cupcake and icing all over your face!

Easter Pictures

Today, since we are healthy and the weather is awesome, I decided to try to take some pictures of the boys for Easter. I never realized though, the older the kids get, the harder it is to capture the "real" smile. All what Tyler wants to do is a say loudly "chhheeesssseee" and look NOT at the camera. That boy is a hoot and a good mental workout for me daily!

We went to downtown Humble to find some old buildings and fun places to take pictures. I came across this old red beat up house. Thinking that it was vacant, I threw the kids up on the porch. After realizing there were items in this house, I think it might be some kind of store. A store good enough for me to go look at again WITHOUT kids in tow! I love new findings!

The Details

Here are a few pics of the cupcakes and party favors. I did balls for the cupcakes because he loves balls. So there were baseballs, basketballs and tennis balls. Simple and fun to make. Made a little green coconut for the green grass...hehe
You can actually buy these cones at Hobby Lobby for a great price. Great price...sarcasm. With some tissue and scrap booking paper, you can make your own. Very easy and CHEAP!
Honestly, every gift bag Tyler ever gets, half the items in there gets tossed. Either I eat the candy and the little toys become weapons. Which in turn get thrown away. Sorry friends, that is the truth. I decided to make luggage tags for one item in the goddie bag. Again, all you need is scrap booking paper. (I'm so happy my friends turned me into a scrapbooker!!)
The mommy juice every mommy must have when hosting a party. There is nothing wrong serving margaritas at a kid birthday party. Just say'n!

Grayson's Cupcake Party

We had the normal first birthday cupcake party for Grayson this past weekend. Family and our neighbors came to celebrate with us. I would love to say Grayson LOVED his cupcake but I would be lying. Overall, we had a great time watching him play with balls. Yes balls..probably his favorite toy in the world. He can't have enough!

Oh Bob...what can I say. Tyler suckered him in to the fort for a good while. He had Bob playing with him throughout the morning. At one point he told Grammy that Bob couldn't go home because he had to stay in the fort. Bob was such a good sport!

Finally a picture of the boys with their grandmothers, Mama and Grammy!!!

He started off looking like he wants a piece of the cake. But that is not how the story ends. After many tries, Grayson was just not having it. It's okay, one day he will learn to love sweets!

A Trip to the Zoo

For Grayson's birthday, I decided to take him to the zoo with some of our friends. It turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL day and we all had a great time. Here are a few, yes few, photos I took.Mary is still not sure what to do with the camera. One day I will catch a smile. Until then, I will keep on clicking! Tyler and Claire being Tyler and Claire.

Grayson had a good time taking off Paige's hat and trying to put it back on.

Richard Glynn and Tyler started walking off and landed right beside the cart guys. When I got close enough, I heard them asking if they could drive. Nice try boys!
Following big brother's footsteps with the ladies. Going after Claire's little sister, Paige.

The boys watching the elephant getting a bath. My kid was the only one to ask for a snack at this time. Guess he thought it was entertaining. BIRTHDAY BOY!

Happy Birthday Makenzie!

Mark was out of town this past weekend in Galveston for a Bachelor Party. Just me and the boys the whole weekend with T-ball and a birthday party. Makenzie was having some friends over for a slumber party and I kind of invited us to the "Diva" party. Makenzie and her friends were so awesome and included Tyler in everything. I just didn't want him to get in the way of their girly time, but they didn't mind a little cute boy being in the middle.

Somebody was getting sleepy and really wanted a piece of the cake. It was so funny to watch him interact with the older girls.

Tyler's First T-Ball Game

This past weekend was Tyler's first t-ball game. I was very excited to see Tyler play ball and really anxious to see how he would handle himself. He did absolutely perfect. He acted like all the other kids; excited the first half and tired the second. Papa Jim was so nice to come out and watch. He actually ended up helping Tyler at 3rd base. I know Jim can't wait until Tyler starts playing real ball and football. He (and Mark) can't wait to coach. I can't wait for that either! Grayson with Mama.

I guess I put the hat to far down on his forehead. It was so funny watching him look around.

Tyler listening "very" carefully to Papa Jim while he explains how to play t-ball. Honestly, this was probably one of the cutest moments. Besides Tyler just being Tyler.

A BIG thank you to Papa Jim, Mama and Makenzie for coming out to watch. You all helped me so much!!!!

The Helmet

When Grayson was around 5 months we had to take him to a Neurosurgeon to check out his head. It was a bit lopsided to say the least. Well, we opted out of getting a helmet that would help shape the head. What a good choice Mark and I made, his head is fine and curved back around. Looking back, the helmet would have helped us out with one thing. The one thing being, keeping him safe. His head is HUGE. Not only that but he is a bit top heavy. Sometimes when he looks up while on his knees, I'm afraid he will fall over!

Long story short, we were playing with Tyler's bike helmet the other day. I found that would be a good idea to keep his head safe while he, and his brother, practice his new trick....the stairs.

Tyler and Grayson both thought the helmet was great, and NO ONE got hurt :)
