I marry Jesus mommy

My goal is to write down all the cute little things Tyler says and put them a box to keep. He doesn't realize they are so cute and sometimes funny. Whenever I feel stressed or tired, I could just pull out a card with something funny written on it. I know it would instantly put a smile on my face.

So, here is what the conversation sounded like on the way to the mall tonight...

Tyler: Mommy, I am daddy now. Grayson is my baby now, okay?
Me : Okay...hmm so who are you married to? Well, who would you call your girlfriend?" (Don't think he understands the whole marriage and wife things yet.)
Tyler: Um, Jesus. Ya, I marry Jesus. Jesus needs to come out of my heart so I can kiss her. Why is she in there? I want her to come out.

It was so cute and he really thought about this. I then proceeded with Jesus is a man not a woman. This opened a lot of questions. Long story short, Tyler needs to start going to Sunday School!

MOMMY!!! Can baby have a sucker???

While I was picking up the living room, the boys were in the dining room hiding (like always) under the table. Tyler just got a sucker for going poo poo - yes gotta do what you gotta do! Anyways, all of a sudden I hear, "MOMMY!!! Can baby have a sucker?" I was telling him as I was walking in there that I didn't think he was ready for a sucker. This is what I found. Grayson is totally ready for suckers!

Closing the doors (chairs) on me. Only a boys hiding spot. Totally out numbered!

The Ellen Show

If I want a nice and quiet lunch, this is how I get it. I just put on The Ellen Show and my kids stop making noises and stare. NICE!
So, This...
plus this...
equals this...
That is what I called a nice and easy lunch :)

Why is my baby so big??

While Tyler is away, Grayson gets to play. During lunch, I gave Grayson a cookie I made. I think he liked it!
It is hard to believe that my baby is turning 1 soon. This picture makes him look so big! Oh how time flies!

A little more patience and appreciation please...

Every so often I get an email being asked to pray for some little sick child/toddler. Usually it is about a kiddo that has some form of cancer and is dying. Breaks my heart every time. A new prayer request I have seen posted or emailed to me is about a little girl named Layla. You can visit her site at laylagrace.org.

The first time I read it, I cried and cried some more. It made me think about my two boys. Maybe how I wasn't being a perfect mother recently. Getting mad because he wouldn't nap, or losing my patience. Well this mother is about to have her daughter go to heaven. Each day now, I try (very hard) to be a better mom. Heck a better wife. I know this is the hardest part of my life. Well, I think it is raising two young kids. I know there will be a lot more obstacles.

I try to tell my kids I love them more often within the hour and I try to make them laugh more. I know I'm not perfect as a mother and wife, but I'm trying. Kids like Layla are inspiring to me in many ways. I pray for this family and this little girl!

Sorry this is a sad blog, but do remember to tell the ones you love, you love them. To hug more often and to forgive. To laugh a little more and to relax. To be spontaneous and happy, not grumpy because things might not be going your way. God can call anyone home at anytime. Scares me like crazy, but that is life.

Valentine's Day

Our day started off by sleeping in and waiting for our good friend from Napa, Pam, to rise and shine. Yes, we had no kids again! We are probably the luckiest couple out there. This is the second week that family offered to take the boys. Thanks to my Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, Mark and I got to have a night out. Thanks Jennifer and Bryan!
I felt so bad though, Grayson was coming down with a cold. Actually it was nothing bad, just one nostril dripping. UNTIL, Saturday night at Jennifers...awwww. Poor thing couldn't breathe and of course, Mother of the Year, didn't pack him any medicine. I felt so bad not only for Grayson, but for the people staying up and giving him extra loving! Long story short, it was a long night in the Hancock house!
We brought the boys home and they both were so tired. They slept until I woke them up at 4:15. I guess they needed that. After that we had some family fun! Enjoy the pics!
I let Tyler take some pics with the camera today. He did pretty well. This is one he took of Mark swinging.
He also took this one!
We FINALLY got to go outside to play. It has been a week or so! Grayson laughed almost the whole time while swinging. He sure did miss his swing and being outside.

Tyler and I made play doh after his long nap today. It was actually really fun! Tyler loves to help in the kitchen when he can. We made Play-doh Cupcakes. He reminded everyone that we couldn't eat them, they are just play-doh.
Cutting out the hearts with a cookie cutter. I was suprised how well he did.
He had such a great time playing with it with his dad.

The final product. After we made them we delivered some to our friends on our street. It was a fun little family outing. Everyone enjoyed it!

Tyler's Art Work

Reagan's Birthday Plate Cake

I have promised myself that I will do "craft time" with Tyler everyday when he doesn't have school. This week I started with him and we made a few pictures. I was told by my OT friends (thanks Rhonda and Laura) that 3 yr olds SHOULD cut with scissors. Yes, I was the mom always telling Tyler NOT to play/cut with scissors. To my surprise, he did really well. I drew a couple of lines for him to cut out, and he did it. (With his tongue hanging out) Very impressed. The next activity I did was for him to glue Cheerios to a plate. I would make small glue circles and he would have to glue them down. I know, seems easy. But for little fingers, it can be challenging.

Later this week we decided to paint Reagan a birthday cake plate. He loved being able to paint whatever he wanted. This is probably the hardest activity for me. I want to be standing over him making sure he is doing it perfectly. The lesson here is for him to figure it out, not for mommy to figure it out. So hard, I remember having to sit back when I taught and wait for the "ah ha" from my kids at school. Best patience tester EVER!

Here are a few pics of our activities. I love the self portrait. I did ask him what other body parts could he draw. He then proceeded to tell me about his private while pointing down. We concluded the activity then :) Enjoy!

Tyler's Valentine's Day Party

It was all about Tyler today during his school party. My wonderful friends took care of Grayson for me, just so I could focus all on Tyler. Thank you Laura and Dee!

Tyler looking all cute for his Valentine's Day pics. Hopefully they turned out well!
He "had" to have a picture of his red balloon. Really don't know why. Look at his expression through the balloon. He was serious!
His beautiful cookie he made. Yummy!
He really does eat it alive when it's just Tyler and myself. He becomes very affectionate and wants to hug and kiss on me. BUT he is so excited to see Grayson when we get home. Usually the first thing he always tells his little brother is that he missed him so much. I love that kid. I hope this bond stays!

Tyler loves him some Mama and Aunt Shelley

Makenzie would be normally smiling with her mouth open. BUT, her wire on her braces came off and would be poking out if she was to open her mouth. Growing up into such a pretty girly!
Tyler loves him some Kenzie!

Before the show began.

I hosted a baby shower for my friend at my house this Saturday. Makenzie had her 6th grade talent show, that she was dancing in, on Friday night. So, I decided to take Tyler to watch his cousin and then he would go home with my mom for that night. That night turned into Saturday night as well. Saturday I got a phone call from mom and it went something like this.

Mom:"Hey, Tyler really wants to spend the night again on Sunday. Is that o'kay"

Me: "So, he doesn't want to come home on Sunday. We do have Supper Club that night and he would be able to see all of his friends."

Mom: "Well, he told me he wanted to, then he also told me NOT to call you, just to let him spend the night"

Hmmmmm, isn't three a little too young for that. Turns out, he was being spoiled over there. Makenzie wasn't there, she was at her dads and Grayson stayed home with us. All the attention was on him!

Not only did he do really well at the 2 hour talent show. (A man also walked up to me at the end and applauded how well Tyler did!) But, he also went to his first movie. He saw The Chipmunk movie, sat and stared the whole time while eating candy and popcorn. After the movie, he went to Chuck E Cheese. Apparently loved that place as well! To finish off the day, mom had to buy him a big wheel! So yes, he WOULD want to spend another night!

Long story short. I am so thankful for my mom and sister. They seem to take the kids once maybe even twice a month. They give them so much love and attention. It is so nice to have that in our lives. To feel loved by extended family and to be able to feel a comfort level they do by wanting to stay over there. Thank you Mom and Shelley. Tyler and Grayson WILL remember these fond memories!

Grayson said WHAT??!!

I am suppose to be getting ready for the baby shower I am throwing this Saturday. Instead the boys and I go upstairs to play while I clean out the playroom. Grayson was playing with a puzzle his nice brother left on the ground for him. All of a sudden I heard "aaaaahooooll". To me, since I was sitting right there and got to hear it with my own ears, sounded perfectly like the word a-hole. Just like the little kid on Meet the Fockers. Girl Scout promise, even though I was never a Girl Scout, I did not teach him that!

The other word he says now is uh ohhhhhhh. He even uses it in the right context! Go Grayson :) Tyler was so excited! When he heard Grayson saying uh oh, he jumped up and ran over screaming, " baby can talk mom!!!"

Last but not least, the kid knows how to climb the stairs. It was pretty cute watching him figuring it out. Bring out the baby gate daddy!

I guess my little baby is growing up. This has been a pretty busy morning!

Pesto Tomato Ravioli

So, I found a really cool website yesterday. It is called eatathomecooks.com . It is an awesome website for recipes if you get stuck on the same meals over and over. That would be me. Tonight I tried the Pesto Tomato Ravioli. VERY GOOD and VERY EASY.

Here is the recipe:

Frozen cheese ravioli
1 jar of pesto sauce
2 cans diced tomatoes, drained

Cook the ravioli according to the package directions. Toss with pesto sauce and tomatoes. We had a side of steamed green beans and bread. Yummy!

Batman vs. Spiderman

When daddy is away, Super Heros come out and play. Or so the boys thought the night Mark went to College Station. They had so much fun and shared so many laughs. Don't worry, no one got hurt!
Grayson went first with the tackle. I had NO idea where this came from!
Tyler showing him whose boss.
Funny part about this, Grayson loved it and was giggling!
After the match, all smiles!

Dillywacker...

Only a mommy would be so proud of her son and his word selection. Last night while we were going potty, Tyler became a bit confused. As he pointed down, he asked, " Mommy is that really called my dillywacker?" I thought it was funny, Mark on the the otherhand was annoyed that I taught our son that word. I use many words to describe that area. Especially if you are in a hurry because he is fiddling with himself, I can't help what comes out. :)

Dillywacker it is, although this morning it went back to pee-pee. Love you Tyler!
